The airport’s floating solar array will be shaped as a giant “O,” representing Orlando International Airport’s logo, and situated in a pond between the main and South terminals, making it highly visible to visitors arriving to Orlando. GOAA will receive renewable energy credits and a LEED certificate for the floating solar array.

Under terms of the agreement with the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, OUC will also provide OUCooling chilled water services, Reliable DG emergency distribution power and back-up generation, as well as on-site staffing for airport facilities.

OUC’s economic development team helped bring KMPG to the area by providing their Economic Development Rate Rider (EDR) and negotiating beneficial electric and water rates, as well as decreased utility infrastructure costs.

KPMG has committed to hiring more than 300 employees to work within its 55-acre, state-of-the-art campus, which will feature cutting edge technologies, including an innovation center to support training and client engagement and a heritage center to highlight the firm’s fervent history and culture.

The facility will bring an estimated 4.5 MW of new electric load and 50 million gallons of water annually to OUC, yielding an estimated $2 million in annual sales for electric and water. Future opportunities include the addition of OUCooling chilled water services, OUConvenient Lighting, and EV charging stations.

From electric-vehicle and solar-powered mobile-device charging stations to hydration stations featuring safe, great-tasting H2OUC, we’re helping USTA enhance its eco-friendly footprint. A powerful driver of economic development, OUC was part of the team to bring the $60 million, 63-acre campus to Orlando. With 100 tennis courts and dozens of programs for players of all ages and abilities – from the junior circuit to the pros – it’s the largest of its kind in the U.S. OUC continues to play an active role in the development at Lake Nona – already one of America’s fastest-growing communities and home to more than 10,000 residents, as well as the Medical City life sciences cluster where nearly 7,000 students and 5,000 employees learn and work each day.

Operating on a tight deadline and working closely with Amcor executives, OUC built the infrastructure to deliver five megawatts of power to the company’s 502,000-square-foot (11.5-acre) facility. That energy, in turn, fuels the manufacturing equipment that produces a variety of plastic beverage bottles and pharmaceutical packaging.

“OUC met our timeframe to run power to the building, and their legal department was good to work with on contract-related details,” said Amcor’s Sheridan Attig, site selector and director of purchasing services. “I was pretty impressed. OUC is a good business partner.”

In addition to OUC’s award-winning power reliability, Amcor’s Orlando plant benefits from Central Florida’s rapidly growing skilled labor force, prime regional location, economic development incentives and low tax structure.

Attig’s advice for companies considering relocation is simple: “Don’t view Orlando as just a tourism capital. The utility, city and state are all available to help your business grow.”

Situated on a 9-acre, two-block site that includes 330,000 square feet of performance, education and administrative space, the Center stands as the majestic new home for the Performing Arts in our region.

And as our newest OUCooling customer, they will use about 650 tons of chilled water from our Downtown Orlando district to keep patrons cool and comfortable.
